Where do you begin with this book. Jesse has been through a whirlwind. We learn at the end who tried to cause her demise with having life suffocate her.
She has been a victim by predators many times throughout her life. Once her grandparents died, her life was in an upheaval. Dirk made a visit in her life at 10 years old. Telling her you need to be mean to fight life.
She took those words and gave them a new meaning. She wouldn't take life lying down. She would rise and fight against those who would hurt her.
Once she became older she found her family. She learned you can lean on others around her. With Dirk there to guide her out of the darkness, is where she found love. People who didn't want to take from her any longer, only wanted to help and give.
This was a heartfelt story and would recommend.
