There is a killer on the loose killing women on a certain day of the month Meadow was the first victim but having survived the attack due to the killer being interrupted.
Nick first noticed Meadow in the coffee shop where they both frequented. He had an attraction to her for years but she was closed how with the past and unapproachable.
Once Nick became aware Meadow was a victim in the case he was working, he was able to get to know her and talk with her letting his interest be known.
I liked the development of their relationship. It was slow until she was fully ready. They let their feelings develop and him help her with her self esteem from the scar running down her face.
I will say it was a little predictable who the killer was. There was a twist i didn't see coming towards the end.
Still a great read and i can't wait to dive into Ethan's book.
