One Hand on the Sink

This was a story about a man falling off the wagon. How he had lived sober for eight years prior. As the story went on, the excuses he would tell himself on how what he was doing would be okay. That he would have a handle on the addiction this time.

As Mike continued drinking he would spill lies to his wife and daughter and continued most of all to lie to himself, saying it would only be when he was not home.

The story showed how addiction ruins families, jobs, and puts you in financial hardship. This book took us on a journey of what Mike risked with each drink. How he dug himself out of the hole the first time he reached for sobriety. Now everything was screwed up again with falling off the sobriety train.

This book highlighted what families go through when a loved one suffers with addiction, the lies and the secrets. How the trust that was built is ruined and each story the addict tells is now under scrutiny.

This was a book how an addict lives and the internal dialogue they have to make it okay. Was an interesting read and would recommend this book to others.
