This was an amazing debut book from author Erika.
Zyon and Gabriel both have demons from their past that haunt them on a daily basis. They struggle in their daily lives to return to the normalcy that they want to feel in life.
Gabriel meets Zyon when she is being mugged. Him, Marcus, and Noah pull up to her rescue and Gabriel is there to tear her tormenter from her. He ensures she is safe and the electricity that sparks between them at the first touch, sets their chemistry in motion.
Gabriel ensures that she arrives safely home, however the fates would have it she can't get in and now Gabriel really has her in his sights.
That night of passion is seared in to both of their memories. However, Zyon has a goal. Only one and done. That is all he was, just a one night stand, he can't be more than that, she already broke her rule of abstinence and risky behavior.
Gabriel and Zyon do meet up again at work and have to form a working relationship with one another. Their heat, passion, and chemistry from being in proximity to each other is sizzling.
Is the darkness they both have too suffocating for the other, or can they bring their darkness together to shine a light?
Once you think things are getting better than bam, that cliffhanger!
I can not wait for book two and to see what happens next with Zyon and Gabriel!
